Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre - East Mountain, an IHG Hotel

We recently hosted our annual Christmas party here for the 2nd consecutive year, and we were so pleased that we have already booked for next year! The team here is truly wonderful to work with. Will Krupp is absolutely exceptional - he made the booking and planning process seamless. On the day of the party, Shirley ensured we had everything we needed and oversaw all the details perfectly. They are a fantastic team and a huge reason why we keep returning :) We understood that the hotel would be undergoing remodeling so this was not a surprise. The recently remodeled room we stayed in was very nice and clean. We only had two very minor suggestions: 1. The shower needs to be pointed towards the shower wall or there will be water all over the floor. 2. Adding a room safe would be a very nice amenity for guests. We highly recommend Holiday Inn East Mountain as an event venue and are looking forward to our next Christmas party here.

They are in the middle of a remodel of the rooms, luckily I got one that was updated. The room was decorated nicely. No carpet, which is a huge plus for me. The service was great, from the front desk to the waitress in the bistro. She didn’t mind me ordering to-go 15 minutes before closing. The only negative is the walls are extremely thin. Heard high way noise all night, the people coming and going across the hall late and the child turning the tv on at 6 am in the room next door. That literally made me jump up. That’s why I gave the rooms a 4. But truly if you can handle that noise…you will enjoy the newly renovated rooms.

I had an excellent experience at this property. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly and treated with professionalism. I’ve stayed six times, and each visit has been consistently enjoyable. The hotel is very family-friendly, the beds are comfortable, and the atmosphere truly feels like home. The balcony views, pool area, food, and drinks were all highlights. Its convenient location near Mohegan Sun Casino, as well as nearby Sheetz, Walmart, and TGI Fridays, makes it even more appealing. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

I was impressed with this hotel the first time I visited. I have planned my yearing family outing around coming here and visiting the natural parks. The balcony option is wonderful and I really enjoy the fireplace. Children do eat free at the restaurant under a certain age which was great on the wallet. I heard rumors of this turning into a Hilton hotel and leaving the IHG family. This will be super disappointing due to being a Diamond Elite Ambassador. I will have a new family plan for when this happens.

This location is one of my favorites. Beautiful facility, great food and the staff is wonderful. (Shout out to Jonathan and Xavier) I have my choice of any hotels and I have never had a bad experience with Holiday Inn hotels. The grounds are great for large gatherings and there is a beautiful view off the back of the hotel.

The room was spacious, we'll furnished, and full of all the necessary amenities. I like the size of our bathroom as well. The staff was pleasant.

Nice and modernized hotel. Undergoing some renovations but the rooms were super modern and homey. Nicely located in Wilkes Barre near the hospital and casino. A good little spot

Newly renovated hotel and being converted from holiday inn. When I checked in lobby felt dusty. Elevator buttons weren’t lighting up but were going to assigned floor. Fire door was broken. Sink wasn’t draining. Breakfast was $15 with limited hours of 6-9am but I got it complementary due to status with Hilton. Average breakfast options, may be even very limited options with very salty breakfast potatoes. But in all fairness they just opened this location and still under construction. They have restaurant which opens at 5pm-9/10pm. You can use your Hilton Amex for $50 credit. Prices reflect this fact. Service was excellent and renovated rooms are spacious compared to average double trees. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Walls are bit thin as you can hear footsteps from outside. Once renovations are complete, this will be excellent place to stay. They did make everything right at the checkout so they get five stars in the review. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel if you have gold and above status with Hilton if not probably with average rates you are better off with hotel with free breakfast.
